The 404 Park Avenue property is in Aspen’s eclectic Smuggler neighborhood at the base of Aspen’s largest silver mine. BendonAdams is working to gain entitlements for a 100% affordable housing project for 28 deed-restricted units. The project utilizes Aspen’s nationally recognized housing program enabling local working residents to own a home in the resort, in an otherwise inaccessible real estate context. As part of an overall strategic approach to the project, BendonAdams advocated to have the Planned Development overlay on the property rescinded by City Council to streamline the approval process. BendonAdams worked with Forum Phi Architecture to coordinate Aspen departmental requirements for this complex site. BendonAdams presented the project to the Aspen Housing Board and the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission. Final entitlements for the project were acquired at the end of 2016.
